Portrait Attire Guidelines

Weddings, holidays, attending a formal ball, or going to a fine restaurant are the few times we tend to dress formally. At each of these events, we want to present our best self as we celebrate with family and friends.

Your Family Portrait IS a Celebration!

This is the most elegant and meaningful portrait you will likely have in a lifetime, and you want to timelessly capture that joy and love.

Styles change, and clothing can draw attention away from your face, the most important aspect of your portrait. For the best results, we suggest you adhere to the dress code to ensure your portrait stands the test of time.

As a distinguished studio, our backgrounds and lighting are tailored to render your portrait as a timeless work of art. Wearing dark or jewel tones and clothing without pattern allows the beauty of your family to show.

Gentlemen - Dark tuxedo, Suit and tie , or Dark jeans with a button down and sport coat. Ties for men and boys should coordinate when possible.

Ladies - Dark or Jewel tones, dress or gown. Classic jewelry such as diamonds or pearls are encouraged. Little to no pattern. Avoid too much-exposed skin from sleeveless tops, plunging necklines, and super short hemlines. Those can be a distraction from the beauty of your face.

Young Ladies - Dark or Jewel tone solid dresses. Cream or off-white are also acceptable for younger girls.

Young Gentlemen - Same as men, or a solid sweater with dress pants. Lighter colors are acceptable for younger boys.
